Strength habits

Strength builds from repetition. These habits start with a handful of reps or one workout and grow as you get stronger.

Go to the gym

  1. Level 1 Go to the gym

Strength training at the gym (≥2 days/week is a solid adult baseline). Check off when you train. Training at home? Add Home workout instead.

Strength 2+ days a week is a solid adult baseline — home or gym both count.

Do sit-ups

  1. Level 1 Do 5 sit-ups
  2. Level 2 Do 10 sit-ups
  3. Level 3 Do 20 sit-ups
  4. Level 4 Do 30 sit-ups
  5. Level 5 Do 40 sit-ups

A few sit-ups to start, building up slowly.

Do push-ups

  1. Level 1 Do 2 push-ups
  2. Level 2 Do 5 push-ups
  3. Level 3 Do 10 push-ups
  4. Level 4 Do 20 push-ups
  5. Level 5 Do 30 push-ups

Start with just a couple of push-ups and build up from there.

Strength 2+ days a week is a solid adult baseline — home or gym both count.

Home workout

  1. Level 1 Do a home workout

Bodyweight or dumbbells, no gym needed (≥2 days/week is a solid baseline). Check off when you train.

Strength 2+ days a week is a solid adult baseline — home or gym both count.

How to start

  • Two push-ups a day sounds small and still builds the routine.
  • Pick gym or home workouts based on where you will actually train.
  • Pair a strength habit with walking or stretching on rest days.
